I am a photographer, software engineer, and generally enjoy creating things. I concentrate on nature, animal and landscape photography, though I also work in macro, astro, street, and portrait photography. I have always been a generalist and I do not believe that limits my ability in any one area, but instead allows me to draw from a breadth of experience and techniques. I enjoy pushing my photographic boundaries into new areas and seeing how the things I learn from the new experience can apply to all my photography.
In my photography, I often try to capture something that may otherwise be missed. Fleeting scenes, unusually close views, and surprising angles can all be captured to provide visual stimulation and aesthetic pleasure in the image. I work in both black & white and color, whatever brings out the character of the composition to my eyes. I try to process my images to supply the feeling of seeing as you were there; this often yields a slightly, but not overly, hyper-emphasized feel to get the emotion across.
